After Joseph prepares his brothers to meet Pharaoh, they are set before him.  He inquires of their occupation; and they tell him that they are shepherds.  The pharaoh welcomes them into Egypt and tells Josephs to set some of them as caretakers of his own livestock.  Joseph then brings his father Jacob before the king; and Jacob blesses pharaoh – twice.  The famine continues in Egypt forcing the Egyptians to use all their monies, livestock, lands and even themselves as payment for food and provisions.  Joseph acquires all of these thing on behalf of the pharaoh and makes a perpetual agreement with the people.  But, while Egypt is ravished, the Israelites in Goshen are blessed.  And before Jacob dies, he makes Joseph swear to bury him in the land of his fathers.
