


Abraham’s Failure (Another Lapse in Faith) | Genesis Chapter 20
As the time draws near for the promise of a son to be fulfilled to Abraham, he once again fails by his lack of faith. Nevertheless, God does not fail him and maintains His covenant with His imperfect servant.

Abram’s Lack of Faith (The Birth of Ishmael) | Genesis Chapter 16
In Genesis 15 we celebrate Abram’s faith and God’s making of the covenant with him. He is doing so well, only to fall once again in weakness of faith. How? Sarah concocts a plan to “help” God fulfill His promises and creates massive problems for the family and the descendants of Abraham unto this day.

The Righteousness of Abram | Genesis 15:1-6
After Abram returns from the battle of the kings, God appears to him in a vision and reaffirms His promise of a seed and many descendants. Abram believes God and his faith (belief in God’s promise) is counted as righteousness.

Abram FAILS and God Has To Rescue Him | Genesis 12:10-20
Abram has demonstrated great faith by leaving his father’s household, obeying God and going to the Promised Land. His faith is indeed great, but he/it is still not what God desires it/him to be. So, God gives Abram his first test and he fails miserably. What does this teach us?
