John the Baptist begins his ministry of preparing a people to receive the Messiah when He comes by baptizing. Although a simple prophet/preacher, he is powerful and draws many from far and wide to his ministry. Upon noticing a delegation of religious leaders, John admonished them to repent upon the threat of being cast into Hell by the Messiah.
It has often been said that the concept of the Trinity is not found in the Old Testament. And also it is argued that the fathers had no idea of such an understanding of God’s person. But is this true? Join me in this study today as we examine the Hebrew text of Genesis 20:13 for an insight into this issue.
We believe that in order to be saved, we must believe in the Person and work of Jesus. As to His person, that He is the Messiah, the anointed One of God. And as to His work(s), that He lived, was crucified and resurrected from the dead. But, what is the “nature” of His Person? Do we have to believe that He is GOD to be saved? Let’s study John 8:21-24 and Exodus 3:14.
