Genesis 1:1 is the creation of the universe. This very first verse of the Bible teaches many principles. Some of them are the origins of the universe, the creator of the universe, and the orderliness of the first creation. And one of the greatest inherent principles from this verse is:
Since the universe is created by God, He has the natural right to govern it and establish the physical, moral and ethical laws. That is, since all things were made by Him, then He retains dominion over those things as the Master/Creator (or as is used throughout the creation narrative – “God”).
