The Image of God and the Mandate of Dominion

The narrative concludes with the sanctification of the seventh day. It is essential to distinguish between the act of God resting as a pattern for mankind and the legal Sabbath later given to Israel. This study clarifies that while God’s rest was established at the beginning, the mandatory observation of the Sabbath was a specific sign for the Jewish dispensation under the Law of Moses.
