Yet, in a single evening, a sovereign divine decree brought a global superpower to its absolute end. This expository study of Daniel Chapter 5 breaks down the tragic accountability of sinning against historic light and outlines the uncompromised truth of God’s universal rule over human history.

I. The Illusion of Worldly Defenses

When the Medo-Persian alliance under General Ukbaru surrounded the gates of Babylon, King Belshazzar did not organize a military defense or lead his nation in structural repentance. Instead, he threw an arrogant banquet for a thousand of his nobles.

This false security was built upon three physical pillars:
